A story about why you should never lose hope.
By: Davina Moreno
Once upon a time, there was a baby penguin named Mia. She was very good and kind, as small as a backpack. She had a black tail and short, tiny hair. Mia was the most intelligent student in her first-grade class and was happy because of it.
One day, at school, her teacher, Ms. Kobe, said lovingly, “We are going on a field trip to the penguin museum.”
Then they all went on the ship, but she was nervous. She whispered to herself, “I am brave, not scared.”

After one hour on the ship, it crashed and made a loud thud into the rock. Then, it started sinking into the ocean until it was fully submerged.
“Oh no! We’re going to drown,” said Mia.
Unlike Mia and the teacher, the other students did not know how to swim, so they got lost in the sea.
However, Mia and her teacher survived and woke up on the sand. They both yelled, “WHY ARE WE ON AN ISLAND?”
Then her teacher looked at her phone, and she had no wifi. They both lived there until her teacher died from old age.
“I am too little to be by myself,” she said.
Then Mia built a boat, sailed off, and went to her home.
Mia ran to her house, knocked on the door, and saw her mom and dad.
Mia said, “I had nothing to worry about. I knew I would find my way home.”
